Accessibility

Effective 7 November 2026. Theatre should be available to everyone, and so should a website about it. This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

What has been done

  • Every colour combination used for text has been checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).
  • All photographs carry descriptive alternative text.
  • Pages use real headings in order, so screen readers and keyboard users can navigate by structure.
  • Every contact-form field has a properly associated visible label, and errors are announced in text, not only by colour.
  • The whole site works by keyboard alone, with a skip-to-content link and visible focus.
  • Layouts reflow to a single column on small screens and survive zooming to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
  • Text is set in real text, never as an image, so it can be resized or read aloud.
  • The page language is declared, so screen readers use the right pronunciation.

How this was tested

Last audited on 7 November 2026, against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Every page was checked with the axe-core 4.10.2 rule set at both desktop and mobile widths, and by hand for things automated tools cannot judge: tabbing through the site with no mouse, confirming a visible focus indicator on every interactive element, reflowing the layout to a 320 pixel viewport, doubling the text size to 200%, and submitting the contact form empty to check that errors are announced rather than merely coloured red.

That audit found four faults — a missing level-one heading on the home page, a submit button with no focus outline, and two elements that were cut off at 200% text. All four were fixed the same day. Automated testing catches perhaps a third of real barriers, so the note below still matters more than the clean result above.

Known limitations

A couple of things fall short, and they are being worked on rather than ignored:

  • The downloadable directing resume is a PDF that has not been remediated for screen readers. If you need the credits in an accessible format, email and you will get them as plain text or HTML the same day.
  • Some production photographs are described in alt text generally rather than exhaustively.

Tell me if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please say so — it will be treated as a fault, not a feature request. Email shinsquaredtsai@gmail.com or call (909) 684-0202, and describe the page and what went wrong. You will get a reply within five working days, and any information you could not reach will be sent to you in a format that works.

Access in the room
